I spent from 7am-6pm handing out how to votes and organising my volunteers as Greens candidate for Werriwa.

I'm currently sitting 3rd on about 3.6% with 80% of votes counted which is good but even better:

* the Liberal/Nationals Coalitian lost,
* Howard probably lost his own seat, and
* <a href="http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/11/25/2100538.htm?section=australia" rel="nofollow">Costello has opted out of the leadership race</a> so there must be chaos behind the scenes at the liberal party headquarters

Hi John,

thank you for your comment.

I think we'll see more "it's all about Kevin" going on after tonight :) I worked with him in DFAT and he was a fairly typical diplomat at the time - not a breed noted for their patience or generosity. It is going to be an interesting result either way.

Personally, I think that JWH will find it a humbling experience whatever happens :)

Best regards, Andrew

I'll be pleased when the bloody thing is over with. I voted for the Greens in the Reps and the Dems in the senate. Having met Andrew Bartlett at the recent blogging conference in Brisbane, I was most impressed with his candor and sense of humour.

My local member is the Ruddbot. I can't see him losing this seat somehow:) It's interesting to reflect that when he first ran for parliament his electoral material didn't mention the Labor Party anywhere, it was all about Kevin.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the PM lost his seat to Maxine McKew, but the coalition held onto government by one seat?
