I’m currently going through my old posts on Facibus Reviews and re-tagging them (long story, WordPress export puts tags into the category list).
It is interesting how my tagging habits have changed over time. Generally speaking I’ve always included a separate tag where the subject matter varies from the category. For example, a posting on wagamama might be included in the Food category, and be also tagged with Restaurant, Japanese Food, and Service.
In the last couple of weeks I’ve made an effort to tag deeper and further - including the names of anyone referred to in the post whether I’ve linked to something of theirs or not.
It just goes to show that tagging and other folksonomic categorisation mechanisms do indeed change over time. If I can change a lot in the course of a month and a half, you can only imagine how whole populations change their tagging habits over a period of years. Interesting.
